The Big Wedding 2013 user review : The back row is all laughing at their dead careers. So Don Vito Corleone travelled to the future, and married his son&#039s ex-wife? And this is the sequel to License to Wed? Hey topher grace it&#039s great to see that your plan to pursue bigger and better things has landed you to being type cast into every shitty romantic comedy...that&#039s what ya get for destroying a good thing like that 70s show...and being a douche I wouldn&#039ve preferred Linda Cardellini over Katherine Heigl. Apart from that, movie looks great! First off diane keaton has always been a dry actress.. her movies which where good is concerned are few and far between.. Deniro Hasnt made a great movie in years robin williams shit since he stopped snorting coke.. i could go on but... Heigl will be the main reason people ven bother to see this in theaters..i mean come on Taxi driver Ragging bull the godfather movies hell Heat... then comedies and dramas that is called the end of a career.... Gigantic amount of Photoshop on this poster. And yes, no way I am going to watch movie with Heigl. She has not been in a decent stuff since second seaon of Grey Anatomy. Why does De niro keep doing this kind of bullshi t? Isn&#039t he tired of being in crappy movies? How can you play the groom in this type of movie...and not get a credit in the trailer? Idiotic except for the fact that all she ever plays is these types of roles....id like to see her in a friggin movie that doesn&#039t have a F&*KING wedding in it yea that kinda sucks when you&#039re the bride and groom in a movie and you can&#039t even get your name on the poster lol. I would say this looks dumb and formulaic but that would be an insult to those terms. This might actually look good. And stop with the Katherine Heigl hate, she&#039s been in some decent films. I find it funny that Christine Ebersole is randomly plonked onto that poster and isn&#039t given a credit. Remember the time when a movie with Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, and Robert DeNiro would have been awesome? Katherine Heigl is the biggest taint, in all sense of the word. You can have the biggest oscar winning actors, a brilliant ensemble cast and great writing but the minute shes cast its like mixing shit into cake batter. She needs to just STOP!

The topic is not new, but make for potential griping dramatic storyline. We had the effective "Ransom (1996)", the delectable "Gone Baby Gone (2007)" and the steadfast "Taken (2008)" which is set for a sequel this year. "Graceland (2012)" is a marvellous addition to the genre and is surely the best film yet on the topic. It is twisted and almost tedious, until a Usual Suspect-like quality is revealed in the script and sustained by the uncompromising direction.

The beginning and build-up is superb and shocking and the ending puts everything in equally appalling perspective. The middle part lags at times, with less action and suspense than its American counterparts, but instead explores themes of family, class, corruption, extortion, sexual behaviour, suspicion, sickness, trafficking, revenge, redemption, etc. with great wit and repartee. The acting shines for the victims and the dutiful detective, although the kidnappers' casting may have been on purpose to portray less cunning and calculating individuals. The 84 running time keeps it relatively short and definitely not sweet, leaving you with an awkward after-taste and after-thought as you leave the theatre.

When the attempt goes horribly awry, the wrong girl is taken, and the driver's life takes a sudden, terrifying turn. Left as the only witness to the crime, Marlon's loyalty is called into question. As events unravel further, he, Chango, and their families become ensnared in a downward spiral of betrayal and deceit that will ultimately leave no one innocent.

Set in present-day Iowa with a pulse on our tense economic times, we follow enterprising farmer Henry Whipple (Dennis Quaid, in what may be his best performance), a tragic character who now secures the Willy Loman place in American movies that had been occupied for some time by Kevin Spacey's Lester Burnham in American Beauty (1999). Whipple, as he loves to remind us, is the largest seller of seeds in seven Iowa counties, second only to Jim Johnson (Clancy Brown). His eldest son Grant, who he idealizes, is off mountain-climbing in the Andes while his party-boy younger son Dean (Zac Efron) races cars, leaving dad and mom (a powerful, understated Kim Dickens) to run the family business. A rich and textured story, this movie is less about building to a payoff than it is a soul-searching study of modern American values. What is astonishing is how Bahrani sees the glory of America and the trouble with her all at a level gaze. There may not be a better-directed sequence in American movies this year than one that takes place here at a race track where all of the major characters are assembled, singing the national anthem. Beneath its raw, physical appeal is a fundamental question about the price that is paid in the soul for winning at all costs at the detriment of your neighbor. This is a great American film.
